Urban Farm 2019

Year 7 Tutor Evening – Tuesday 20 November 2018

We would like to invite you to our Parent and Tutor Evening on Tuesday 20 November. The transition from Primary to Secondary school is clearly a crucial stage in your daughter's education and we want to work with you to ensure that she is supported as effectively as possible. Your daughter's form tutor is central to this and should be your first point of contact with the school.

Year 7 Trip to Penshurst Place – Sunday 30 June to Tuesday 2 July 2019

We have planned a residential “Bushcraft” trip for Year 7 next year. They will be taking part in a wide range of activities designed to teach teamwork, leadership skills, problem solving and resilience.

World War One Battlefields Trip 2019

The History Department is planning an educational visit to the World War I battlefields of Ypres and the Somme. We have successfully run this trip for many years and believe it to be an invaluable experience for any student of History.

Grand Opening of our New Buildings

We intend to officially open the new buildings on Friday 2 November and are delighted that
Isabel Garvey, the Managing Director of Abbey Road Studios is joining us to officiate at this event. We have also invited members of our local community, Governors, nominated students as well as former members of staff. It will be a very busy occasion and one that we are really keen to celebrate.

Update – School Funding Campaign

Firstly, thank you for the huge support that you gave to Headteachers who campaigned for improved school funding at Westminster on Friday 28 September. Over 2000 head teachers attended in London with many more supporting their actions too.

Knitting for Charity Club

We have a number of students involved in a Knitting for Charity Club this term. We will be knitting squares to support the Knitting for Peace – Keep Britain Warm Campaign. They use knitted squares to make dressing gowns as an alternative to blankets.

2018/19 GCSE Geography Field Trip

As part of the GCSE Geography specification, students are required to undertake two compulsory days of fieldwork. This will comprise of a one-day fieldwork experience of both a physical and human environment. Your daughter’s experience of fieldwork will be assessed through the Geographical Investigations section of Paper 2: UK Geographical Issues.

Ski Trip EASTER 2019 - Aprica Italy

We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity of a place for your daughter on the Ski Trip 2019. The course will take place during the Easter holidays, departing on the evening of Friday 5 April 2019 and returning the afternoon of Saturday 13 April 2019. The total cost for this course will be £995.00 which is ABTA and ATOL protected.

Studio Fees for Art

In a bid towards becoming a cashless school, we are no longer handling money in the Art Department. Rather than students pay in cash for equipment throughout the year, we have introduced a studio fee for all year groups which covers the cost of sketchbooks and art/textiles equipment used during your daughter’s/son’s studies.....
